Hassan Abbas Shakir is a registered U.S. patent attorney and a licensed professional engineer whose practice is focused in patent prosecution in the areas of mechanical, electrical, computer and Internet-related arts.
He is the founder and principal of SHAKIR LAW PLLC and counsel to SHAKIR KAMOSHIDA IP in the greater Tokyo area.
He counsels clients in the medical device, automotive and technology industries on freedom to operate, provides product clearances, and invalidity and non-infringement opinions of domestic and international patents and works closely with them to develop non-infringing options for proposed products and processes. He is experienced in trademark and patent infringement litigation and unfair competition litigation.
Prior to entering the legal profession, Hassan was an engineer for more than 12 years with the New York State Government, designing and managing multimillion-dollar projects. After earning his law degree, he was associated with law firms in Stamford, Connecticut and New York City, including 14 years firm Katten Muchin Rosenman LLP where he concentrated in servicing medical device, automotive and Internet-related companies.

Shinichi Kamoshida (鴨志田 伸一)is a Japanese patent attorney (弁理士)whose practice is focused in patent prosecution in the areas of mechanical, electrical, control technology, computer and Internet-related arts.
Shinichi is of counsel to Shakir Law PLLC. He counsels clients in the mechanical device, control technology and technology industries on freedom to operate, provides product clearances, and invalidity and non-infringement opinions of domestic and international patents and works closely with them to develop non-infringing options for proposed products and processes.
After graduating from Meiji University (MS), Shinichi was an engineer in the R&D Department for more than 10 years and an in-house patent attorney in the IP Department at Seiko Epson Corporation. Shinichi filed more than 300 patent applications with the Japan Patent Office as an inventor when he was an engineer. He received the Outstanding Invention Award and the R&D Award at Seiko Epson Corporation.
After leaving the company, Shinichi belonged to patent law firms in Japan and the US, devoting himself to the services of domestic and foreign manufacturing companies.
